2018 Arizona Hiking Challenge. Tempe A mountain with friends and my five year old daughter.

2018 Arizona Hiking Challenge. Tempe A mountain with friends and my five year old daughter.

Join our 2018 Arizona hiking Challenge. My friends and I will be hiking all over Arizona every Saturday. Share your hiking pictures with us via email or message through Facebook or tag me on Instagram and give us permission to share them.

The first hiking experience we had since we started the challenge was at the A mountain in downtown Tempe. It is a very easy, short hike. There are two trails, one goes up the mountain and the easy one around it. The view is beautiful from there. A mountain is surrounded by downtown Tempe, you can see the river and more mountains far away. From the top, we watched an event that was going on behind it. The event was so big a road was closed.

If you go up the mountain, make sure to take pictures of the A. For those who are not from Arizona, the mountain can be seen from most of Tempe, specially downtown. I don't know the story behind the A, it's easy to assume it stands for Arizona but who knows maybe it's an A for Anda, callate y ven a caminar (which is Spanish for "be quiet and come hike") although probably it's an A for Arizona, comment if you know or let me know your thoughts.

Paid parking, $2:00 per hour or $10:00 all day so bring your friends, ride together and stay for a while, this mountain is within walking distance of many downtown attractions. This parking lot is shared, I parked there in February when I joined doTERRA. I participated in a sales training at the hotel next to A mountain, on that event, they offered an insanely great deal for people who had just joined and were present like me, I immediately purchased my kit and the rest is history.
